Rescue Date

June 1, 2019

Fiona arrived at Heartwood Haven in early June 2019. She was picked up by animal control as a stray was in major pain and couldn’t walk because of a broken back – she had at least two fractured spinal vertebrae and other health issues. Fiona was cautious with humans, likely from an abusive past. Once her back healed, Fiona made a best friend and enjoyed life to the fullest with Penny. She did come around to trusting us and enjoyed occasional ear scratches from visitors and lots snackies. Fiona passed away from complications related to paralysis she had from spinal damage. She left a huge hole in our hearts and her cuddling partner, Penny misses her.
