Maple was used as a breeding sow on a small family farm. She had two pregnancies and both resulted in major problems. The farm couldn’t use her anymore, but they also didn’t want to slaughter her because of her sweet personality. Maple went to get spayed right away and the veterinary team discovered that she still had mummified piglets in her uterus and an infection starting. Thankfully Maple healed right up and is enjoying living with other pigs.
