Moira, Johnny, Frankie and Grace

Rescue Date

November 25, 2019

Moira was rescued by a kind woman who took in Johnny as well when he showed up stray in her neighborhood. One day Moira disappeared and came back with two babies in tow. The rescuer wasn’t ready to care for so many turkeys and didn’t want Moira to run away again to hatch more babies. We offered to adopt the family and keep them together forever as an ambassador family. Turkeys form strong bonds with one another and liver happier, healthier lives when they live in social groups. After a year of living at the sanctuary, we lost Grace to a predator attack. The rest of the family is doing well. Frankie is the shy one. Moira is the boss. And Johnny is the protector. Moira especially loves visitors and making new friends with anyone she meets.
