We Care About Roosters

One of the ways that cities can help alleviate the problem of homeless roosters is by allowing roosters in the same municipalities as hens. Cities are unknowingly creating this problem by allowing backyard hens, but not allowing roosters. We have heard from people who are threatened with heavy fines for having rooster and must rehome him.

Hope and Jon Snow, one of the rooster residents at Heartwood Haven.

Why Heartwood Haven is a VEGAN Animal Sanctuary

To me the greatest change that has come with being vegan is that it completely changed the way I look at the world and life. It filled me with compassion for non-human animals as well as for other humans. It has truly been a life changing experience for me. It feels odd to remember a time when I actually thought that eating animals was normal. Now it seems like the most abnormal thing in the world to me.
