Sponsor A Turkey

logo-heart

Turkeys are intelligent and social. They are great at navigating and exploring vast terrain. They are family oriented and deserving of our compassion. Every year, 70 Million Turkeys are killed for the November and December Holiday season alone. This year, save a turkey by sponsoring a Turkey. Your sponsorship will provide turkeys with food, shelter, and safety all year long. In gratitude, you will receive a certificate of sponsorship for your Turkey. Meet the turkeys who call Heartwood Haven home below. You can choose to sponsor an individual Turkey or the whole flock.

Sponsor Johnny

Quite the stunner, Johnny is always ready to strut and show off his stuff. Johnny was rescued after being abandoned and left to fend for himself. Without intervention, he would likely have been killed by predators. Johnny lives here at Heartwood Haven with his turkey family, now surrounded by love and safety.

Turkey Flock

Sponsor all the tukeys including Johnny, Moira, Frankie, Jocelyn, Ronnie, Scarlett, Teddy, and Pebbles. Your sponsorship of the whole flock will ensure all the turkeys have food, shelter, and medical care for the year.

Sponsor Frankie

Frankie was raised by Moira and has only known safety her whole life. She came to the sanctuary with her mom and dad, Moira and Johnny. Because Frankie was raised by other turkeys, she tends to be stand-offish with people. Frankie gets the most out of life because she has security and the safety of friends and family.

Frankie

Sponsor Ronnie

Ronnie loves hugs and scratches under her wings. Ronnie and Jocelyn were rescued together from an agricultural program that teaches kids how to raise and care for animals. Children don't know that once the animals reach maturity, they are sent to livestock auctions. The child that raised Ronnie and Jocelyn couldn't bear the thought of this and reached out for help. Ronnie now lives here at Heartwood Haven, surrounded by turkey friends.

Ronnie

Sponsor Moira

Moira's favorite activities are sleeping in and strutting for visitors. She was determined to hatch babies in her previous home, so she hid her eggs and disappeared for a month. Her caretaker was afraid that Moira would be eaten by a predator if this kept happening. She decided to transfer Moira and her family to Heartwood Haven to provide better safety to Moira. Moira lives here at the sanctuary with one of her babies, Frankie, hatched at her previous home.

Moira
Jocelyn

Jocelyn is Fully Sponsored!

Jocelyn is always first to breakfast, which we can all appreciate. Jocelyn was rescued along with Ronnie from an agricultural program that teaches kids how to raise and care for animals. Children don't know that once the animals reach maturity, they are sent to livestock auctions. The child that raised Jocelyn couldn't bear the thought of this and reached out for help. Jocelyn now lives here at Heartwood Haven, where breakfast is always on-time.

Pebbles arrived as a young stray in August 2021. She is curious and makes friends everywhere she goes. Pebbles quickly became an integral part of the turkey flock. Pebbles enjoys playing games and exploring the world with her beak. By sponsoring Pebbles today, she will know nothing but family from now on, something everyone deserves.

Teddy

Teddy is Fully Sponsored!

Teddy came from a neglect case in King County. When he arrived, he was covered in lice and was suffering from neurological issues due to malnutrition. It took months for Teddy to recover, but he was thrilled to meet the other turkeys once he did. He enjoys spending his days with his turkey family and strutting for all the humans he meets.

Scarlett3

Scarlett is Fully Sponsored!

Scarlett loves to greet visitors with a loud call. She was surrendered to Heartwood Haven after a bobcat attacked her and tried to drag her off. She was traumatized by the experience and visibly shook at all times. Scarlett now lives in safety here at the sanctuary, surrounded by her turkey family. Her best friends are Jocelyn and Ronnie.
