Volunteer With Animals in Roy, WA

Volunteering Your Time

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with animals at Heartwood Haven in Roy. We believe volunteers at Heartwood Haven are our biggest asset. The majority of volunteers at Heartwood Haven have been with us for years and are dedicated to serving the animals who come through our gates. Volunteers are required to come once a week on a set schedule for 3 hours typically from 8am-11am and we do require volunteers to commit to a minimum of 6 months. Why the early hours? This is when the majority of chores are done. We also ask for a once a week commitment so you stay up to date and informed with what’s happening at the rescue. Heartwood Haven is an active rescue which means there are always new animals coming into the rescue and animals being adopted. Your ability to come once a week means we can continue to provide all of the animals with the top notch care they deserve.

No previous experience working with animals is necessary. You will either be paired with a longtime volunteer or you will work directly with our Executive Director, Kate. We do ask that you come with a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and a willingness to work with animals. There are days that you may be bottle feeding goats, there are days you may be in the rain shovelling poop, and there are days you may be doing both. Lastly, if you have any questions please feel free to reach out to Hope, our Director of Operations at [email protected].

With Compassion,

The Heartwood Haven Team.
